16 Days later and I can now track my XBox returning via UPS. The site says I should get it on the 18th.

By all that is holy, I issue forth a happy huzzah!
UPS Delivered the machine yesterday. Here is the proof.
However, as of this morning, according to the repair facility, it has not been delivered.
I am sad.
One thing I consider bad for text-based games is that they are called MUDs. ‘MUD’ instantly brings to mind that nasty, feces-like brown stuff. How can new players be attracted effectively to a game when it is referred to as MUD? There is no way the name can be changed; it is too ingrained into the culture. MUD developers should make a concerted effort not to advertise their games as a MUD when attempting to attract new players unfamiliar with the term.
We need an acronym like PORSCHE or CASH!

I know you are on pins and needles, anxiously awaiting news of my poor, disabled XBox. Unfortunately UPS is fouling my evil plans. The poor little XBox is in Colorado, when it should be in a Texan Repair facility… TEXAS!

UPS Package Tracking
Seven torturous days have past. Luckily you can ascertain the progress of your repair online. Unfortunately this is my status:
Hopefully they will get my returned XBox by tomorrow.
Must… Play… Halo…
While feverishly working on the computer I received an email stating that my XBox return package had been delivered. Opening the front door I discovered the beloved container laying on the welcome mat as promised. Entertained that I was emailed about the delivery before my children even noticed the box, I quickly opened the package, read the return directions, and packed up my XBox.
Gleefully I hopped into the car and quickly sped down the hill from which I live to the nearby UPS drop off point. Three days have transpired since my adventure into XBox repair had begun. How long will it be until I receive my new or repaired machine?
Here is what was initially shipped to me.
Here is the XBox nicely wrapped up.
The XBox is safely snuggled into the box for shipping.
Boxing up complete! Time to mail!
Aaron has been gone four weeks. One week left and he will be back. I cannot wait, we have really missed him around here. I mean heck, who do you think has been taking out the garbage with him gone?
Here is a picture of him in Maine getting ready for dinner.

Returning from Ocean Shores I was met by the most horrible manifestation of the Satan. While away, my XBox 360 developed the red ring of death affliction. I have no idea what has caused this, but it sounds like the DVD drive is grinding to a halt.
This is the second time I have experienced the death of an XBox. My previous system suffered from severe overheating. Following a quick call to support, the nightmare ended happily, a new machine in my possession after a few short days. This morning I put in another request to XBox support once again.
Hopefully this will be as painless as it was last time.
If I have a problem like this guy or this guy, I will kill myself.
I am on the Washington coast right now (near Ocean Shores) for a work event. Kite flying is big here so we used yesterday afternoon to give it a try. Skeptical about how fun it would be, we picked up a ’stunt’ kite and headed to the beach. There is a whole story there about how I was continuously up sold in the kite store by a shifty saleswoman, but more on that another time.
Way more fun than I was expecting. The kite was strong enough to pull us along the beach. We could flip it around in any direction we wanted. We had some nice epic collisions with the ground. The kite was worth every cent I spent on it. We even broke the thing once, but the store we purchased it at was kind enough to repair it for free. When we returned to the house, several of my coworkers were looking online for their own kites.
Here are some images.

I cannot wait to get home and try this out with the kids.
